Works with Meta Quest2/3

****This project requires walking space to work properly****

A 4+ meter corridor is recommended, but not required.

This is a prototype demonstrating a locomotion method for walking in VR.  It is intended to make spatial locomotion more accessible, requiring only a Quest 2 and some space to walk in.

The Concept:

You define 2 points in your playspace, your "corridor".  The game redirects you between these two points as you walk.  When you reach the end of your corridor, the game rotates the world around you so that if you turn around, you can continue walking in your original direction.   This allows you to traverse distances in possibly the most natural way, given the limitaions.

Controls:

Left trigger:  Change walking direction

Grip buttons: Grab/Open Chests

Y/B button: Use item in hand slot

Abilities:

-Reach out to suck up coins

-Hold palm up to summon fireball.  Grab and release to throw.

-Shoot energy arrows by bringing hands together, grabbing, pulling hands apart, and releasing.

-Look at wrist to open inventory.  Items can be placed in slots, and items equipped in hand slots (closest to hand) can be used with the Y/B buttons.

random idea: what if to cause (and cover) the transition - you raised both hands up to cover your eyes?
(possible good: blocking out your view of the environment for a second  might be a nice natural way to trigger the view change).
(possible bad: don't want people to smack their headset. don't know how close hands would need to get to block view. maybe there is someway to fade to black based on how close hands are? so it happens before they get there?)

Anywho. downloaded but haven't played yet. maybe this is all an unnecessary idea to share. but sharing anyway!
(p.s. really dig the simple crsip shapes, art style and tone. )
